The train departs from Southern Cross Station at 6.50pm on Friday and 6.40pm on Saturday (based on current times) and travels at a leisurely speed to the north, approximately 80 minutes travelling time. The train ride in itself is a highlight, with the freedom to move around amongst the older style, seating carriages. Throughout the ride drinks and savouries are served by our friendly and formally attired staff and our disc jockey provides the entertainment.

At our country destination we disembark and take the short stroll to the Macedon Family Hotel where the welcome is very warm and a sit down dinner with drinks would be provided. Following a stay of nearly three hours it's back to the train for the return to Melbourne. It's a much livelier affair on this leg and the dj and his dance carriage are very popular. Arrival into Southern Cross Station is around 12.00am.

This is an ideal option for your end of year function, especially if you're looking to break the routine by offering something different. This is certainly a unique activity and one that staff will strongly recall for many years to come.

The train is also available for charter at other times of the year. An indicative per person cost (fully inclusive of transport, music, food and drink on the train and at the hotel and gst) is $140. A minimum of around 150 people would be required for an exclusive charter.
